“My people are destroyed for
lack of knowledge.”
Hosea 4:6

Some Background for this Website

At no time in the history of the church has there ever been so much teaching, and so many books published, on the Bible and the Christian life, as what we have today, especially in America. And yet, rather than helping, it seems that such leaching has left so many Christians in ignorance of most of the great truths of the Bible; few, it seems, even have an adequate grasp of the text of the Bible.

In his time the Apostle Paul admonished the Hebrew believers regarding their lack of spiritual development:

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.
— Hebrews 6:1-3

G.H. Pember, the great 19th century student of Biblical prophecy, has quite a trenchant comment on how this statement exposed the spiritual lack among believers in his time:

We may observe that this list of foundations includes nearly all the doctrines commonly heard from our pulpits.
— The Great Prophecies Concerning the Gentiles, the Jews, and the Church of God, from the Preface, page vi

Mr Pember wrote these words in 1887; how much more do they apply today! So many Christians today simply have no interest in pressing on to know more of Christ and of the divine revelation He has so graciously given to His believers!

Pember goes on to speak of the very serious warning the apostle gives in Hebrews 6:4-8, to those Christians who reprobate, regarding the severe discipline that awaits them. Pember then states:

The context leaves us in no doubt as to the manner of persons who are in danger of the lapse contemplated and the appalling judgment which much inevitably follow it. They are those who refuse to look beyond the first principles of Christ; those who will not study, meditate upon, and suffer the Holy Spirit to mold their minds by, the revelations which God has provided for that purpose….; those who vainly strive to excuse their indolence, and want of appetite for heavenly things, by affirming that the simple Gospel is enough for them.
— Ibid., page vii

This failure to be acquainted with anything more than the most basic matters of the Christian faith and life has left believers in general woefully unable to serve God for the sake of His eternal purpose (Eph. 3:11). Moreover, we find ourselves unable to meet the need of this age; despite the vast numbers of professing Christians in this country, we fail to serve as the “salt” to help stay its corruption (Matt. 5:13), or the “light” to shine in its darkness (Matt. 5:14), and so help to preserve America for the Lord’s purpose as we await His soon return.

If brief, as Hosea cries out in the verse quoted above, God’s people are perishing for a lack of knowledge. It really is a fulfillment of the apostle’s warning.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
— 2 Timothy 4:3-4

My Own Background

I grew up in suburban Chicago, Illinois, in the 60s and 70s and became a Christian in 1983, not long after graduating from Hillsdale College; you can read my testimony of salvation here:

My Faith, then His

I began serving the Lord on a full-time basis in the Chicago area in 1997, among the churches raised up through the ministry of Witness Lee. As a result of a turmoil among these churches that arose in 2006, however, a number of us were put out of their fellowship, so I no longer have any relationship with the Living Stream Ministry, which publishes Witness Lee’s books.

The Content of this Site

I am solely responsible for the content of this website.

It first went live in 2012, but both the content and the presentation were at that time limited and basic. I took the site offline in 2020, and finally relaunched it in its current format in June of 2021.

Books

In addition to the writings and videos on this site, I am the author of two books:

Lawlessness, the Left, and the Antichrist (2021).
Second Thessalonians 2:7 tells us:

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

That is really the key verse in this book, which is a study of the moral breakdown currently taking place in America, and how it relates to the coming rise of the Antichrist.

Writings on the Turmoil Among the Churches
(2018).
This book is a compilation of the articles I wrote in relation to the turmoil mentioned above. Although dealing with a very negative topic, it should give the reader a better understanding of what it means to stand for the Lord’s testimony today.
