— A Podcast Series —

The Way of
the Church

In our previous series, we considered several items that relate to the nature of the church: that it is the Body of Christ, composed of all its many members, who are called into the fellowship of God’s son on the earth today. (Please note, this series really builds on that one, so you may want to listen to that series first, if you haven’t already. You can find it here: “What Is the Church.”)

In this series we now go on to consider how, in a very practical way, the church as the one unique Body of Christ is to be expressed here on the earth today. In brief, we as the believers in Christ should simply be gathered together in the Lord’s name to come together as the believers in Christ wherever we live. When we meet in this way, apart from any sectarian kind of fellowship, we maintain the unique New Testament fellowship of God’s Son.

To maintain such a fellowship, however, we must appreciate the profound, organic nature of the oneness we have with Christ and our fellow believers. And we may also consider the history of the Children of Israel in the Old Testament to see how crucial it is to reject our own choice, and instead take the Lord’s choice, as the basis for how we meet today.
