Titus Chu on Our Way & Our Walk
As Christians, we need to
distinguish between the way
we are taking, and how we walk
as we are on that way
Recently I have just been reminded of a very simple, yet important, point Brother Titus Chu made not too long ago. I believe it was during a “Question & Answer” session he gave at a conference in the past year or two, though I don’t remember exactly when it was.
Also, to be clear, what I am sharing here are only my impressions and interpretation of what he said, not an exact recounting of his sharing, so please take it in that way.
But, his basic point was that, as the believers in Christ, we need to understand the difference between the way we are taking, and how we walk upon that way.
If the way we have taken is right, we will eventually end up at the right destination, even if we make many mistakes as we are walking upon that way. So, in that case we should not be overly concerned about our mistakes and failures as we walk. Rather, if we fall down, we just need to get up and continue on our way again.
In contrast, if the way we have taken is not right, but is instead leading us in the wrong direction, then even if we are walking in a very good manner on that way, we are still heading in the wrong direction, and thus will end up at the wrong destination. (And how much is this the case with so many worldly people today!)
As I say, that is a simple point, but I still feel it is a very good and helpful distinction to make, especially if we feel we have made a good many mistakes on our way as we follow the Lord (as I certainly do!). So, I wanted to pass it along, to encourage you as you walk upon the way.
NOTE: If you are not familiar with Titus Chu, he is an older brother based in Cleveland, who has served the Lord for many years and who has been a great help to me personally, as well as to many others here in the Great Lakes Area and elsewhere. He is the author, among many other books, of Philippians: “That I May Gain Christ.”
