Daniel was a truly remarkable servant of the Lord. He was a prophet (Matt. 24:15), and yet, for the most part he did not prophesy. Rather, he was one who saw visions, including some of the key visions in the entire Bible, such as the vision of the Great Image, the Four Beasts, and the prophecy of the 70 Weeks.

His life, unlike that of many Old Testament prophets, is not so remote or different from our own, and it shows us how we, like Daniel, can be full of vision as we follow the Lord today.

Proverbs 29:18: Without vision the people perish.

Matthew 24:15: Jesus affirms that Daniel was a prophet.

Revelation 1:9: John was in exile when he saw his vision.

Matthew 13:12: To him who has, more shall be given.

2 Corinthians 6:1: Don’t receive God’s grace in vain!

1 Corinthians 15:10: God’s grace to Paul was not in vain.

Matthew 24:45, 25:21,31, 1 Cor. 4:2: The two basic qualifications for serving the Lord.

Luke 16:10: Faithful in the least, faithful in much.

Daniel 6:4: They knew Daniel was faithful.

Daniel 1:4,8-16,17,20: The wisdom of Daniel.

Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

James 1:5, 1 Kings 3:9, 11-12: We can ask God for wisdom.

Matthew 5:3: Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Daniel 7:1,4,6,7,8,9,11,15,15,19,21,28: Daniel “kept looking.”
