“This Way,
Please”

The story of the Titanic reminds
us that, in a world headed to its
certain doom, the gospel of
Jesus Christ is the “lifeboat”
of our salvation

With the Titanic suddenly (and amazingly) in the news so much again recently, I thought I would highlight a post I have on the website that uses the Titanic tragedy to illustrate the gospel.

It tells some of the stories related to the sinking, such as that of a wealthy young banker who would not leave his stateroom when his maid tried to warn him that something was wrong. It also includes a number of famous Titanic photographs.

And all of this is used to draw a lesson from this great tragedy: while the world may seem so permanent and so full of luxury today, its doom, like that of the Titanic, is already sealed. Our only hope, then, is to escape in the “lifeboat” of salvation that God has provided for us in of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
