The Two Comings of Christ as
Prophesied by Zechariah

A Bible Study: The Two Testimonies in Hebrews 11 & the Lord’s Reward

When we consider how exactly the prophet Zechariah’s words were fulfilled in the first coming of Christ, we should be very encouraged (2 Pet. 1:19), and sobered, to realize that his prophecies concerning the Lord’s second coming will also be fulfilled in the same exact way.

This brief, two-page study, which is provided in downloadable and printable PDF format, is mainly just a side-by-side listing of the prophecies in Zechariah regarding the first and second comings of Christ, and their New Testament counterparts. This should make it a useful tool for both individual and group Bible study.

The Two Testimonies
in Hebrews 11
& the Lord’s Reward

A Bible Study: The Two Testimonies in Hebrews 11 & the Lord’s Reward

Hebrews 11 shows us that Abel and Enoch each gained a distinct testimony before God. These are the two distinct testimonies that we ourselves need to gain today as we seek after the Lord in the way of faith. In brief, Abel’s testimony was that he was righteous, while Enoch’s testimony was that he was well-pleasing to God.

Every genuine believer in Christ alreay has the first testimony, but not all will gain the second. Our eternal destiny is secured by the testimony of righteousness, that of Abel. However, the reward or discipline we will receive at the judgment seat of Christ is not yet settled. That will be determined by whether or not we gain the second testimony, that of being well-pleasing to God, which belonged to Enoch.
